With the growth of the online world, a lot of sites, games, and streaming services found a way to add revenue, next to what they get already had. The annoying ads and popups are something that is a huge pain in our behind especially when we are deep into a movie or a TV series.
You all know that these ads are meant to promote something you haven’t seen, may be interested in and to bring revenue to the service that is pushing these ads. Now what is interesting enough is that we get all these ads and popups that have nothing to do with our preferences and things we are interested in and they annoy us beyond belief. This is where smart people managed to make a small piece of software that integrates into your browser or OS and stops these from popping up and stopping your favourite show. The way they work, how they download and integrate to your devices, iOS in this case, will be shown if you check out AdBlock for YouTube app on iOS.
The details on everything can be found there, but we decided to go the other way and list the best adblockers you can find online for any of your iOS devices. Here is the list:
- TotalAdblock
This is THE app for dealing with advertising, notifications, and trackers of any kind. TotalAdblock also stops advertisements from appearing on websites that operate on a free-with-ads basis, such as YouTube and Crunchyroll. Simply removing adverts should cut the amount of time it takes for websites to load dramatically. TotalAdblock may be configured to block known malware-propagating websites and webpages or to whitelist sites that you want to remain undisturbed. Although the basic TotalAdblock program is free, you must purchase an annual subscription to have access to the premium features, some of which are described below.
- 1Blocker
This program is both powerful and distinctive. The app’s power and distinctiveness derive from the fact that it was created solely for Safari and iOS. It will not block anything that is not within the Safari browser because it is a web extension. To disable advertising, cookies, and comments, simply check the necessary boxes. Regular rule updates ensure that your options stay limited. 1Blocker is available in two flavours – free and paid. The commercial edition provides system-wide firewall protection against in-app trackers, a whitelist extension, and the option to sync settings between iOS devices.
- Adlock
This is a powerful ad-blocker that prevents pop-ups, auto-play advertising, banners, and unwanted redirection on Safari sites and in apps, all while avoiding detection by anti-ad-blocker software. The designers recommend using three to five filters, but you may try even more in the app’s settings. You may use the filters to control what you see on web pages, such as pop-up chat boxes. Adlock is compatible with iOS 12.1 or newer iPhones and iPads.
All in all, you do get a huge choice of these apps and most of them work well. There are those you have to pay and there are free ones that work as browser extensions that will work in 90 to 95% of cases in my experience. You can pick and choose to your liking but life with these attached to your device is much better and less interrupted. Try whatever you like and please tell us what you think of these.
