A New Report Gives Some New Details on The Plot For ‘THE SUICIDE SQUAD’ Including A Familiar Location

Interesting theory ahead!

According to reporting by Comic Book Movie, Starro has been spotted in the sneak peek for The Suicide Squad that was shared during DC FanDome. CBM surmises that this may be the movie’s big bad.

Additionally, Reddit user 20athrowawayaccount shared a new report from Empire Magazine. It features hints into what we may see in the film – specifically James Gunn’s plans for Task Force X:

[The team will set off on an] “entirely new, sentence-reducing suicide mission,” this time “in a fictional Latin American island named ‘Corto Maltese.'”

CBM points out that Corto Maltese first appeared in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. The island was a point of focus for something similar to the Cuban missile crisis. During this, Superman is sent by the U.S. Government to fights off the Soviets. This location was referenced in The CW’s Arrow and it was mentioned in Tim Burton’s Batman film. With Michael Keaton joining The Flash, this points to Batman 1989 for sure becoming part of the DCEU.

In this feature, producer Peter Safran revealed:

“[They] have to destroy a Nazi-era prison and laboratory named Jotunheim where political prisoners were held and experimentations took place.”

What do you think about these tiny tidbits about The Suicide Squad?
