If nautical nonsense be something you wish no need to drop on the deck and flop like a fish. Just tune in to The Patrick Star Show, a Spongebob Squarepants spinoff, that just had a 13 episode season ordered. The show will stream on Paramount+ which just had its launch along with an entire Bikini Bottom universe. The platform will also house the original Spongebob Squarepants, yet another spinoff called Kamp Koral: Spongebob’s Under Years, and the new movie, The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run.
The Patrick Star Show is a prequel expected to air this summer that follows the life of a younger Patrick and his family. Patrick still lives with his parents and hosts an imaginary television show for his neighborhood made in his bedroom. The show will include new characters like Cecil Star (Patrick’s dad voiced by Tom Wilson), Bunny Star (his mother voiced by Cree Summer), Squidina Star (his eight year old sister who fancies herself his TV producer voiced by Jill Talley), and Grandpat Star (his grandfather voiced by Dana Snyder). His grandfather turns out to be the most intelligent of the Star family.
This prequel spinoff offers a deep dive and closer look into the character of Patrick and how he came to be, letting the viewers love this character and his family even more.
