You can add Peggy Carter herself, Hayley Atwell to the list of perspective Directing candidates.
In a recent appearance at the Wales Comic Con, Atwell was asked if there was another character she would be willing to play. Rather than name a specific character, she stated that she wouldn’t mind stepping behind the camera and directing a film.
I’ll direct a film. I would like to do that.
Of the three, Gillian is the only one with directing experience as she made her directorial debut in the critically acclaimed The Party’s Just Beginning last year. That being said, a opportunity might prevent itself in the Disney+ Marvel Shows that they are working on. For the first time directors like Evans and Atwell, they might prove to be a good learning ground while still in the MCU. Especially since Marvel is unlikely to handoff one of their big budget films to a an unknown, Even if that unknown is Captain America or Margaret “Peggy” Carter.
How do you think Hayley Atwell might handle directing film? If she uses the same skill she did at playing the role of Agent Carter, she would do fine.
