An adult lifts a child to help him pick an orange from a tree in a sunlit garden, with a building featuring columns in the background.

A Palestinian teenager is swept into a protest that changes the course of his family’s life. Reeling from its aftermath, his mother shares the story that led them to that fateful moment, tracing the hopes and heartaches of one uprooted family over seven decades.

For in-depth thoughts on All That’s Left of You, please see my colleague Dave Giannini’s review from its original theatrical release here.

A group of people dressed formally pose for a photo in front of a backdrop with palm leaves; one woman wears a wedding dress, another holds a baby, and a child stands in front.

    Video Quality

All That’s Left of You comes to Blu-Ray courtesy of Watermelon Pictures with a 1080p transfer that is a beauty. We have been waiting to bring this home since it premiered at Sundance 2025, and the wait was worth it. The detail on display unlocks some nice character within the carefully curated production design and costumes. Skin tones are consistent, and there are some exquisite facial details present, especially in close-ups. Colors are nuanced with distinct hues coming through in each environment. Black levels retain great shadow detail with no indication of crush. Elements such as compression artifacts or other undesirable digital anomalies do not impede this image. The cinematography of the film maintains a textured look that thrives in high definition. This Blu-Ray release is a winner in all respects.

    Audio Quality

The Blu-Ray comes with an effective DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio track which brings the story to life with great consideration. Dialogue comes through clearly without ever being overpowered by any music or sound effects. Directionality is rendered precisely so that sounds emerge from all the appropriate spots. Environmental sounds are a key part of the soundscape, such as background chatter or various outdoor sounds, which lend a dynamic sensibility to each channel. There is an impressive sense of activity in the film, and this track presents the movie exactly as it was intended. This is a worthy disc that gives the film a proper presentation. Forced English subtitles are included.

A doctor in scrubs speaks with a man and a woman in a hospital waiting room, with other people seated in the background.

    Special Features

    • A Conversation with Writer/Director/Actress Cherien Dabis and Executive Producer Mark Ruffalo A 28-minute Q&A interview with the artist conducted by Mark Ruffalo in which she discusses why she wanted to tell this story, the challenges of shooting this film, how the film became more relevant during production, the different filming locations, acting in the film, and more.
    • Unmaking Of – A Documentary by Bilal Alkhatib: A 62-minute fly-on-the-wall look at the communal process of making this film under extraordinary circumstances.

    Final Thoughts

All That’s Left of You is a harrowing look at one family’s tragic trajectory over the decades, which properly knocks the breath out of you as you come to understand them as a representation of so many families. Moments of beauty are inevitably rocked by pain, but the film avoids being overly punishing due to the humanity shown throughout this family. Cherien Dabis has crafted something very special both behind the camera and in front of it. This is a true gem that should not be overlooked. Watermelon Pictures has released a Blu-Ray featuring an excellent A/V presentation along with valuable special features. Recommended

All That’s Left of You is currently available to purchase on Standard Edition Blu-Ray or with a Limited Edition Slipcover exclusively through Vinegar Syndrome.
