When the Scott Wilson tragically passed, it caught his Walking Dead family by surprise. In fact showrunner Angela Kang had just announced Wilson’s return to the series at the NYCC a few hours before they received the news. Because of this, the Talking Dead episode that would follow the premier had been pre-recorded so no mention was made of Wilson’s passing. They did show a brief title card to honor the actor and cast and crew put their condolences and memories all over social media.
Fast forward a week and after The Walking Dead’s second episode, The Talking Dead played a tribute to the beloved actor. Host Chris Hardwick preceded the tribute slideshow with a brief monologue explaining what had transpired the week before.
As you sit down to enjoy your Spaghetti Tuesday on a Wednesday, take a moment to remember the greatness that was Scott Wilson, or as so many of us knew him, Hershel Greene. We love you, Scott.
