‘American Gods’ Season Two to Premiere Early 2019

I’m a big fan of the Starz series American Gods. I wanted to start this off saying that. Based on novelist’s Neil Gaiman’s book of the same name, the show centers around Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) as he’s thrown into a crazy, off-balanced world of gods and monsters. Though the first episode aired in 2017, we’ll have to wait until 2019 for the second season to come around. Luckily, though; it seems like we won’t have to wait too long into the new year to get new episodes, based on Whittle’s tweet.

Early 2019? That would be incredibly exciting. The American Gods hype definitely seems to be picking up, especially since we reported that the cast and Gaiman will attend NYCC on Friday, October 5th. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to go, but it’s great to see the show getting recognition on such a big platform such as New York Comic Con.

Carmi Zlotnik, the programming president of Starz, told IndieWire, in regards to the new episodes:

“They look fantastic. It’s very safe to say we will follow the tradition of Season 1 and produce some mind-blowing television.”

Personally, I would be over the moon if American Gods returned early 2019. Filming is underway and if you remember how things left off in season one, I’m sure we’re going to see even crazier events in season two. The stakes will definitely be higher, as the battle between the old gods and the new gods wages on.
