Bautista Talks ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 3’ and ‘Avengers 4’

Bautista has been a mainstay in the news and lately it’s been about his ongoing issues with Disney firing director James Gunn. Dave has made it crystal clear that he is not happy with his employers decision and has even called them out on social media more than once. With word coming down that Guardians 3 is on a definite hold, Dave spoke with Digital Spy saying

“It’s kind of a strange situation to be in now where we’ve lost our director for Guardians. Guardians 3 is really up in the air and I don’t know what they’re going to do with it.“

While most of Avengers 4 has been filmed, Dave opened up about how the delay on Guardians 3 might have an affect on the characters in the upcoming sequel to Infinity War

“It’s on permanent hold for now, and that may make a difference in what they do with our characters in Avengers 4. To be honest with you, right now I really don’t know.”

With all of the ongoing issues between Bautista and Disney many have wondered if his character Drax would remain in the after life or be recast. Bautista shut down that by saying

“But I know I’m in Avengers 4. I’ve shot most of it already. I do have two days of reshoots. But other than that, I have some really great scenes that I hope they use. But I guess that it remains to be seen what they’ll do with the character”

It does sound like there might be some trouble in paradise but hopefully Disney and Dave can work this out. There is no time table for when Guardians 3 will begin production and all crew who were hired for the pre-production were dismissed and told they could find other work.

Reports last week indicated Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi had a meeting with Marvel for an undisclosed film. Perhaps Guardians 3?
