Behind the Scenes Footage of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad Revealed During DC Fandome

A 1970s gritty war movie mixed with a super-hero universe? Directed by James Gunn! Sign me up! During DC Fandome, currently still happening, behind the scenes footage was revealed of The Suicide Squad. It may not have been a trailer, but there were plenty of scenes to give us a sense of what we can expect. As they say, roll tape!

If you don’t know me, hi. I enjoyed 2016’s Suicide Squad. I’m also a huge fan of James Gunn’s work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, when it was revealed Gunn would direct a sequel to David Ayer’s 2016 film, I was stoked. It was first revealed that none of the original members would return. That was quickly squashed. Now we see the return of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller. Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flagg, and Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang.

We also have a ton of brand new faces. Gunn is no stranger to weird. And he’s embracing the weird. The colorful. He’s really going all out. Not only are we getting a more comic-book accurate Harley Quinn, we’re getting an amazing looking King Shark. And it was revealed who Idris Elba is playing – Bloodsport.

Check out some of the title cards – I think John Cena may become a favorite of mine. “A douchey Captain America”. Love it.

What are you most excited for in The Suicide Squad?
