‘Candyman’ Reboot Has Begun Filming in Chicago

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”28073″ img_size=”720×379″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]When it was announced that Jordan Peele was planning to do a reboot of the iconic 1992 horror story Candyman, fans were excited. They remembered the original, which was based on a Clive Barker short story, and starred the equally iconic Tony Todd. However, what they were not sure of was when the film would go from the planning stages to actual production. Well wonder no more Candyman fans, as the film has started principal photography.

Candyman is being produced by Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM) along with Jordan Peele and Win Rosenfeld’s Monkeypaw Productions. Signed to star in the film are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, Watchmen), and Teyonah Parris (If Beale Street Could Talk). Also in the cast are Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits) and Colman Domingo (Fear The Walking Dead). They will be joined by a number of talented local actors from the Chicago area, where the film will be in production.

CandyMan is directed by Nia DaCosta (Little Woods) from a script by Peele and Rosenfeld. It is being filmed entirely in Chicago and is slated to be released on June 12, 2020.
