What do we know about Captain Marvel 2? Well, not much. We know it is directed by Nia DaCosta and will star Brie Larson, who reprises her role as the titular character. Besides that, we don’t know much else. However, we do now have a report – provided by The Illuminerdi.
What we’ve learned is that Captain Marvel is looking to cast two new character roles. One being a “strong African-American”. It’s rumored Zawe Ashton is being looked at for the role. The other role is someone in the vein of Clive Owen. It is being described as a red herring role with an early death in the movie.
The first Captain Marvel went on to gross over $1.1 billion and was a hit with critics though fans were not as kind to it on Rottentomatoes. Check out our article on why we think Captain Marvel gets too much hate.
We eagerly await the sequel and what Nia DaCosta has in store for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
