Candyman director Nia DaCosta will helm the next Captain Marvel film and actress Brie Larson says she is the best person to direct the sequel. During an appearance on , A Little Late with Lilly Singh, Brie opened up about Nia getting the job and how she was inspired by her.
“It’s amazing, and I’m so excited that it’s announced and I can talk about it. Nia is amazing and she got the job because she is the best person for the job. That’s one of my favorite parts about this. She just gave an incredible presentation and I’m inspired by her. She has confidence and it’s a big deal to step into like, this thing, the Marvel universe, this huge thing! And to have a leader who’s just like ,’Yeah, I’m meant to be here.'”
This should bode well for the chemistry between the two. The first Captain Marvel film grossed over a billion dollars and was a huge hit with critics, scoring 70% on Rotten Tomatoes and getting Certified Gold. The next chapter of Captain Marvel will see Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau.
