Chris Pine and Danny DeVito are teaming up for a mystery project called Poolman. Pine will direct and write the movie, which Patty Jenkins will produce, along with Stacey Sher and Ian Gotler.
What do we know about Poolman? We know who Pine and DeVito are playing, thanks to the Illuminerdi. Pine will play Darren Barrenman – an eccentric pool cleaner who wants to stand up against corporate real estate agents against ruining the authenticity of Los Angeles.
DeVito is playing Jack Denisoff, who is a “big-time TV producer/director” who is experiencing a career slump after some bad investments. Charismatic and desperate to get back into the game, Jack is working on a documentary about Darren’s efforts to protect LA from those who look to destroy it.
No other casting news is known – but, production is planned on beginning in 2022. What do you think of the plot of Poolman?
