According to Deadline, Colin Farrell is in negotiations to play The Penguin in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Originally thought to be the role Jonah Hill was in talks for, it seems that Reeves is moving beyond people’s perception of who would play the iconic villain if the role goes to Farrell. We just reported that Andy Serkis is in talks to play Alfred in the movie, which is another unusual choice. Reeves is building up quite a cast here, with Robert Pattinson, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, and Zoe Kravitz confirmed for The Batman.
If Farrell does get the part, he will round out the trio of villains that Reeves has planned for this movie, i.e. Dano and Kravitz.
