A Working Partnership
Composer Jeff Russo is no stranger to Star Trek. He has been intimately involved with both Star Trek Discovery as well as Star Trek Picard. At least as far as the music is concerned. He is also no stranger to Director Noah Hawley. They have worked together on both Legion and Fargo. With those facts in mind, it is no wonder that the pair has discussed Hawley’s upcoming Star Trek Film. At least in passing anyway. The film itself is still in the writing phase and not near ready to discuss such details. Nonetheless, Russo discussed the little bit with Comicbook.Com what he and Hawley have talked about.
We have had conversations about what it might sound like, what it might be, what he’s thinking. Nothing is set in stone right now. The movie is still in development and still being written. There are lots of pieces that need to get put into place, so who knows what’s going to happen? But Noah and I are close friends as well and we talk about music all the time and talk about that and talk about the Star Trek that I’m already doing. We talk about that and right now we’re working on Fargo so there’s always talk about that. This was two people who are artistic talking about what the possibilities are for what the new Star Trek movie could sound like or could have in it or could be.
What the future holds
Of course, with his work on Fargo and both CBS/All Access Star Trek franchises, Russo has had plenty to keep himself busy. However, because of their familiarity with each other and Russo’s previous Star Trek experience, it would be no small leap for Hawley to enlist Russo in his upcoming film. Are you excited about another possible Star Trek film? With the popularity of both Star Trek Picard and Discovery, it would seem to be a good opportunity to revisit the franchise in the cinematic world.
