Tom Cruise is coming off on his greatest performances ever as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – Fallout and the 56 year old actor shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. Tom is still performing most if not all of his own stunts in his films. The actor is also often fan casted and rumored for playing the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. Cruise would for sure fit an older more seasoned Hal Jordan who is taking under his wing a younger John Stewart to become the next Green Lantern. Cruise has even been asked if he would like to do a superhero movie to which he replied:
“You know what, there is always another mountain in anything, you know anything. I’ll never say no if I find something that’s interesting and I think that an audience would like to see it. And they’d be entertained by it and I feel like I can contribute something to it.”
Today a report came from the site Crazy Days & Nights who claim Tom Cruise is the front runner to become the next Hal Jordan but there is a catch, his Hal Jordan must not die. According to their report the current Geoff Johns script calls for Hal Jordan to die at the end of the film. Cruise apparently does not like this idea and is asking for the script to change his outcome before he agrees to sign on. If this report is to be trusted, honestly I have never heard of this site nor have I ever seen anything confirmed by them, then it sounds like Tom Cruise might be wearing a suit of green in the upcoming Green Lantern Corps. film. That is if WB does not kill off the flyboy! We reported exclusively a couple weeks back that WB has director Josh Trank on their list to direct the film and if they are looking at actors for the film then we could be hearing something on that front sooner rather than later. Trank is currently finishing up his film Fonzo with Tom Hardy and Tom Cruise is filming Top Gun 2.
