28 Days Later director, Danny Boyle, is looking to kick off his next movie later this year. Boyle has been tapped by Searchlight Pictures to write and direct their new drama, Antarctica.
The film will be a riveting survival story set in the Antarctic. The story follows two men trying simultaneously to be the first across the continent unassisted.
The film is eyeing a late Q4 production date but that could always shift.
For the two men, the film is eyeing several prototypes for the roles of Louis Rudd and Colin O’Brady.
Louis Rudd (50-59) British – Prototypes include Colin Farrell, Cillian Murphy, Jude Law, Daniel Craig, Charlie Hunnam.
Colin O’Brady (20-29) – From Portland, Oregon, 33 at the time of the events. Before the crossing, Colin, was an avid endurance athlete, competing for the United States in the Triathalon world cup.
Danny is looking for an American actor and possibly looking to cast someone 25-30. Prototype actors include Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Glen Powell, Nick Robinson, Taylor John Smith.
