If you forget, DC Comics’ Vertigo has been behind iZombie, Hellblazer, Lucifer, Swamp Thing, and Doom Patrol. Vertigo has been the hub for the more R-Rated content that DC Comics couldn’t really produce. Unfortunately, though; it seems that after twenty-six years of being in business, DC Comics is looking to shut down Vertigo.
According to Bleeding Cool, the titles that were meant to be announced at the San Diego Comic-Con may be released back to the creators and some might be moved within the publisher. Vertigo was originally created in 1993 by Senior DC editor Karen Berger. A problem was that then-chairman of Warner Brothers Alan Horn demanded to know why more Vertigo titles weren’t being adapted into movies or shows. The reason was that most titles were creator-owned. This caused Horn to demand a change in contracts. This meant that bankable stars like Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis, Grant Morrison, and Neil Gaiman were told to look elsewhere.
What do you think of the possibility of Vertigo closing its doors?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
