Synopsis

“A cold case from the Justice League’s past has mysteriously re-opened, and Batman and the Flash—the only two heroes who stand a chance of cracking the case—are at each other’s throats! Our heroes must combat a demon from the past while burying their own inner demons in the process…and neither the World’s Greatest Detective nor the Fastest Man Alive will ever be the same again! But who is really pulling the strings here? And how does Gotham Girl fit into all this? Friendships will be tested and blood will be spilled in this titanic crossover event…” – DC Comics

Story

Joshua Williamson has started The Flash #64 perfectly, giving context to how Gotham Girl feels about Bruce Wayne and how she will do anything to become a great hero. Also, having both of the best detectives in dc comics giving each other compliments by inner dialogue. Batman asking a great question, “Who is the better detective?” If anything you can see these two great detectives a lot of respect for each other.

I love the conflict between Bruce and Claire (Gotham Girl) also between Iris, Flash, and Batman you can feel the tension between the characters because of Wally.

There are two pages where the flash talks to Batman about how they cannot stop someone from being a hero no matter how much you try. Also, remembering about Wally while talking with Batman how they both made mistakes. Those pages were very powerful thanks to Joshua Williamson.

Art

Jordi Tarragona and Rafa Sandoval did a great job with the artwork. From the expression with Gotham Girl or even Iris West to the fast pace movement of the Flash. It was all captured well by the artwork.

Overall Thoughts

Joshua Williamson did a great job with the chemistry between Batman and Flash and because of that the emotional impact in those two pages I talked about earlier held more weight to them. The emotion showed by each character where all expressed perfectly because of the amazing art.

I highly suggest you pick up The Flash #64 at your local Comic Book shop, Amazon or DC Comics today!
