At long last, DC’s fan event Fandome: the Hall of Heroes is finally upon us (with another event scheduled for Sept. 12). Fans all over the world are gearing up for a slew of announcements, interviews, and exclusive content on all things DC.
First up on the docket was a panel on the upcoming film Wonder Woman 1984 which was originally slated for release on June 4th of this year but was pushed back to Oct. 2nd due to COVID.
Things kicked off with director Patty Jenkins, Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Kristen Wiig (Barbara Minerva/Cheetah), Pedro Pascal (Maxwell Lord) and of course Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) on the massive stage taking video fan questions. Everyone was extremely thankful to all of the fans for being patient during the long wait for the film.

When asked about how Steve Trevor feels being in the reverse situation of his character from the previous film, Chris Pine stated, “I would say it was a good lesson as a human being… to not be so cool.”
When the legendary Linda Carter appeared for the final ‘fan question,’ Patty lit up and chimed in, “We think about you everyday, Linda, and we talk about you all the time.” In reference to the work as a whole, “We’re not here to reinvent Wonder Woman… We’re here to pass the torch.”
As a final treat, DC debuted a brand new trailer for the upcoming film. Highlights include CHEETAH! Oh sweet High Father she looks fantastic! We get to see a few snippets of young Diana on Themescyra in what appears to be the Olympic games setting that had been mentioned in past leaks. Maxwell Lord and Barbara Minerva have some epicly evil monologues setting a very dark tone for this trailer in contrast to the first. All told, this DC fan is very excited.

I’ve worked my whole life to become a comic book illustrator, writer, and stand-up comedian. Batman and Captain Benjamin Sisko helped put a good head on my shoulders. I spent most of my childhood saving Hyrule and the Mushroom Kingdom and seeing the Justice League save all of creation time and time again. I live in Johnson City, TN with my wife Kary and daughter Laila enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery and occasional show. Three puppies round out the family and take up the rest of the time that isn’t spent debating which Wes Anderson or Studio Ghibli movie to watch. I spend an inordinate amount of time binge watching SVU, Futurama, and Letterkenny, and when I’m not watching I’m listening to “My Brother, My Brother, and Me” or playing the occasional game of D&D. If there’s a nerdy endeavor out there, I’ve probably at least tried it.
