Deborah Snyder Reported An Incident Involving Joss Whedon, Talks ‘Justice League’ and More

Disclaimer: Mentions of Suicide Below

Zack and Deborah Snyder have gone through something no parent ever wants to or should go through. The death of their child. The subject of the Snyder’s daughter’s suicide is an intense one and it isn’t for me to go into. You should just know that the suicide of their daughter was ultimately the reason both walked away from completing Justice League, as they had just buried their daughter while in the middle of production for the DC film.

“Zack just said to me, ‘I can’t do this anymore,'”

Joss Whedon came in and to complete the movie. Since then, people had asked for the Snyder’s to have the opportunity to complete their vision now that years have gone by. Warner Bros. finally obligated, giving them the chance to finish the Justice League vision for HBO Max. Deborah also says she reported an incident involving Joss Whedon to Warner Bros.

“There was one incident I was aware of that I had reported back to the studio right before the movie came out, I went to the higher-ups that someone came to me about Joss.

“I think it was resolved in a way that the person was happy with, That’s all I can really say.”

In a new interview, Deborah talked about the Justice League that will hit HBO Max this month. She talked about how Zack Snyder’s version of the film wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for streaming services. Deborah also talked about how the version now is different than what they would have been able to do years ago if they had stayed on for the theatrical version:

“The studio wanted things different than we wanted. Just theatrically what you’re allowed to do is different. I feel streaming affords risk-taking and character development and so many things.”

“It was an enormous undertaking, Some of the effects we had to redo because it wasn’t in our style. And Zack wanted to go back and put in some of the early character designs. We really put everything back in.”
