As pretty much most fans of the extremely popular Disney+ Series The Mandalorian know, actress Gina Carano was unceremoniously dumped from her role as Cara Dune by Disney. This was because of numerous insensitive tweets the actress made. Eventually, the backlash became enough that Disney was forced to distance themselves from her.
Now, WeGotThisCovered is reporting that Gina had reached out to Mandalorian Star Pedro Pascal to speak on her behalf and get them to reverse their decision. Whether this happened or not, is unclear. But if it did, it obviously made no difference as Disney is standing by its decision calling her comments “abhorrent and unacceptable.”
Whether this changes in time is yet to be seen. But in the meantime, Disney is moving forward with the Mandalorian. The decision Disney faces is if they recast the character or move ahead with out Cara. That is Disney’s call.
