Disney Optimistic on Introducing Fantastic Four and X-Men into MCU; Trying to Figure out How to Include Deadpool

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”28050″ img_size=”656×300″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The X-Men and Fantastic Four will be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When? We don’t know. Kevin Feige did mention briefly at SDCC that they didn’t have the time to talk about the two former Fox properties. But, I’m guessing we may hear something in regards to them at D-23. Either way, it’s reported that Disney is optimistic about debuting these characters down the line of the MCU.

Variety writes:

“Disney is optimistic that handing Fox superhero properties such as “Fantastic Four” and “X-Men” to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will improve the quality of these movies, but bumps must be smoothed over in that transition.”

While Deadpool is the only Fox property that will transition into Disney’s MCU, it seems that the studio is “grappling” with how to include the Merc with the Mouth. Fox made the two Deadpool movies very R-rated, but the MCU is known for PG-13. They want kids to come to the theaters, so no one is sure how an R-rated movie fits into that. Once Upon a Deadpool was PG-13 and does show how to include Wade Wilson in a more toned-down way. But, we would miss the charm of Deadpool not holding back or being censored.

Deadpool is not in the same boat, though; as Fox’s New Mutants. Which, Disney is not impressed with apparently. Many believe Dark Phoenix is the last Fox Marvel movie, but forget that we still have New Mutants -which is continuously being pushed back. Disney knows that Deadpool sells, so really it’s just about how to execute a Disney friendly Deadpool movie.

“The goal is to find a way for the character to move seamlessly between “Avengers” spinoffs and bloody, profane stand-alone adventures,” Variety reports.

As we know more, we will let you know!
