One of the highlights of the premier of Disney+ is Jon Favreau’s Star Wars series The MandalorianHowever that was not all the Star Wars goodness planned for the streaming platform. In addition to the Diego Luna-led Rogue One Spin-off, fans were excited to hear about an Obi-Wan series starring Ewan McGregor. He will be reprising his Episode I-III turn at the character but other than that, details have been sketchy.

Some Of the Plot Line

He had revealed in a Men’s Health interview some of the details of the plot:

The storyline sits between Episode III and Episode IV. The Jedi Order was falling apart. It will be interesting to take a character we know in a way and show him — Well, his arc will be quite interesting, I think, dealing with that the fact that all the Jedi were slaughtered with the end of Episode III. It’s quite something to get over.

Revisiting Alec Guinness

Recently however, while promoting his Stephen King based film Dr. Sleep, he volunteered a little more information about the upcoming series. Especially since he will be closer to the age Alec Guinness was when he first played the role. Well, he revealed as much as the tight lipped McGregor would. (Where’s Tom Holland when you need him).

The most satisfying thing about those films, other than some of the fight sequences — which were amazing to do — was the study of Alec Guinness and trying to be believably him as a younger man. As an acting challenge, that was the most satisfying thing about those movies. And so now, that’s the same, except I’m just closer to the age he was when he played that film. So it’ll be interesting to play him now. And also, it being post — plot wise, [after] the three films that I made already — it’s after that, obviously. So there’s a bit of story, plot there.

Are you excited to see what Disney+ comes up with in the six episode series? What other Star Wars characters would you like to be explored in the new Disney+? Share your list with us at Geek Vibes Nation.
