Fans of Lucifer Spread Rumor That Tom Ellis is Being Replaced

While we fans are still waiting for season 5 of Lucifer to be released, we’ve been sharing like crazy that we will be getting a season 6.  It was confirmed that Ellis would be back for Season 6 back in late May. This came after the contract disagreements were finally sorted out.

Rumor

Unfortunately, there seems to be a false rumor of Ellis being replace by Ian Somerhalder who’s Netflix V-Wars was recently canceled after one season. What the rumor was is fake news and bait clicking. Some fans think Ian would be a great replacement for Ellis. I’m not gonna lie when I saw the article I jumped out of my seat. If Ellis ever does decide to not return to Lucifer,  PLEASE PLEASE let Ian be his replacement.

Ellis’ contract was renewed in March for Season 6 of Lucifer.  It was reported that the actor had problems with the  new contract and negotiations continued after that. A source told TVLine: “Everyone wants Tom to be happy, but there’s a limit and it’s been reached.”

Season 5

Netflix has not officially renewed past season five even though front runner Ellis, and writers Idly Modrovich and Joe Henderson have signed on. Season five was said to be the “final” for the cult series. However, TVLine reports that Ellis sorting out his dispute, “all but assures that Lucifer will be renewed for a sixth season.”

We still don’t have a release date for season 5,  which has fans of Lucifer like me patiently waiting to hear. It’s been since May 2019 since season 4 came out. What we do know was confirmed by Ellis on The Kelly Clarkson Show is “Netflix is going to drop eight episodes, and then there’s going to be a little break, and then they’re going to drop another eight episodes.” So we will get a total of 16 episodes.

The show was forced to shut down production in March due to the coronavirus. According to Deadline the had only four days left of shooting. Fan’s have been making it clear we are ready for season 5 to drop. One fan complained about the long wait on Twitter,  of which writer Modorich replied, “I know! Feel free to be annoyed. I thought it’d be sooner than it’s been. Oof.”
