Five Reasons to Be Excited for Marvel’s ‘ETERNALS’ Film

2020 didn’t have any MCU films, but 2021 thankfully seems back on track. We’re only a few months away from the Black Widow movie. And thankfully, we got a trailer for Shang-Chi finally. Things are looking good – especially with the Disney+ shows being massive successes. While we’re also excited for Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange 2, there’s one movie that is seemingly not getting any hype.

That’s Eternals. The crazy thing is, the film is supposed to come out this November 5. That’s this year and no one is generating any hype about it. I know we don’t cinematically know these characters yet, but the casual fan didn’t know who the Guardians of the Galaxy were. There needs to be more excitement around this film and I’m here to tell you five reasons why you should be pumped.

We’re Finding More Out About Celestials

On-screen, the only real time we got a Celestial in the MCU was Peter Quill’s dad Ego. And he was the worst (I mean, it was a great role, but he’s not getting a Father of the Year Award any time soon). Since the Eternals were created by Celestials, this means more cosmic knowledge in the MCU.

The Star Power

Eternals is jam-packed with star-power. We have Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Kit Harrington, Gemma Chan, and so much more! If that isn’t a good reason to watch the movie, then I don’t know what is.

The Director is Literally an Oscar Winner

Director Chloe Zhao just took home her second Oscar for the Oscar-winning film Nomadland. I put my trust in a creative talent who seems to consistently win at the directing game.

We’re Getting LGBTQ Representation

Sorry, Russo brothers; having a male character allude to having a boyfriend in Avengers: Endgame does not mean representation. Eternals will feature a character – Phastos, played by Tyree Henry – as openly gay, with a loving husband. I truly hope that this movie will correctly represent the LGBTQ community and start normalizing seeing same-sex couples in Disney films.

Ramin Djawadi Is Scoring the Film

Ramin Djawadi is behind epic scores, such as Iron Man, Game of Thrones, Jack Ryan, Westworld, and so many more. And he’s scoring Eternals. The Eternals is about to have one of the best soundtracks in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I think these are pretty good reasons as to why you should be excited for Eternals. Hopefully, once a trailer drops; more people will be voicing their excitement for this film.
