What does any of this mean for season three of For All Mankind?
What an explosive ending for such a phenomenal show. Throughout the season, we’ve seen tensions build. Not only between the United States and the USSR, but within some of the primary characters. I know I haven’t written a review since episode seven. There’s a lot I wasn’t able to touch upon – such as the intense Molly and Wayne scenes. Or the big reveal of Karen’s affair to Ed. That alone is so much to unpack. But, I need to speak about what we’ve seen here.
Slight Spoilers
I felt that season one left open some things, while wrapping up a lot. So much so that season one could have stood as a singular season. However, season two’s finale leaves open a lot. What is going to happen with Margo now? Where does this leave Ed and Karen? And how does the show move on without two of its main characters? I won’t spoil it, but wow. I did not expect that to happen. It was almost poetic for these two characters to be with each other at the end, but I have to wonder why that decision was made.
We see, in this episode; the likes of Danielle and Sally making big decisions – both that left my jaw hanging. Season two’s finale was not playing around and I was at the edge of my seat every moment.

Whereas season one ended on a hopeful note, season two ends on a solemn one. We see not only the deaths of two main characters, but we’re left with questions as to what happens next? A family is broken. Another is compromised. The fight between the US and the Soviet Union is seemingly tempered, for now; but nothing is fixed when it comes to Ed and Karen. And how do we begin to recover from the losses?
All I can say is wow. The wait for season three is going to feel very long and I wish more people were talking about this show. What’d you think of the season finale of season two?
