For All Mankind Season Two Episode Four: Everything’s Coming Up Ed

Ed is having a great fourth episode. Not only is he going to be the first commander of the state-of-the-art Pathfinder, but he’s bringing his friends along with him (not literally on Pathfinder). But, Ed takes care of his friends. And Molly, Danielle, and Gordo are all benefiting from Ed’s decision-making, even if they don’t initially believe it. However, will Ed’s over-enthusiasm about his friends’ abilities come back to bite him in the end? Or will each of them get the motivation they need to succeed?

The Start of Something

Episodes one through three were like the build-up to a race. And episode four was the flag-waving to signal that the event had started. From here, I can only imagine where things will go. You can see the stories that are being set up and you could possibly have an idea where things are going to go. However, For All Mankind has a way of pulling the rug out from under you. And, as someone who has been able to view episodes in advance; I can say to expect the unexpected.

While this episode was good to Ed, the episode really goes to Danielle. Krys Marshall gave a wonderful performance as Danielle. Who is able to make her character feel vulnerable, welcoming, strong, determined, and incredibly human all at the same time. You felt sad for her character in moments during this episode. You felt mad for her. And in other scenes, you shared in her triumph. I look forward to seeing what season two has in store for Danielle.
