Former Members of ‘TellTale Games’ Form AdHoc Studios

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”15408″ img_size=”953×537″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]TellTale Games was a successful gaming developer. Their list of published games was somewhat lengthy and pretty popular. From The Walking Dead, to Minecraft Story Mode, Back to the Future, Game of  Thrones, Tales of Monkey Island, and Sam and Max save the world, TellTale was bringing back fan favorites and putting their own unique spin on them. You can imagine the shock and disappointment of gaming fans when the company unexpectedly closed its doors back in November of 2018.

In what is perhaps a positive development, four of the creative talents behind TellTale games have joined together to start their own gaming development company. AdHoc Studios promises to continue the same style of narrative adventures made prominent by their former company.

In a recent interview with Variety, AdHoc chief technology officer Dennis Lenart discusses how the concept of not having to get their ideas approved by multiple groups of people was appealing.

Having to pitch something that ultimately fifty people need to understand and approve means a lot of the more adventurous or risky ideas often die early on for a bunch of different reasons. We liked the idea that if it was just the four of us, we’d be able to more confidently wade into unfamiliar water.

For fans of the now defunct TellTale Games, do you look forward to seeing what AdHoc Studio will come up with that might be comparable to the TellTale Games model? Share your gaming hopes with us at GVNation.
