A couple of weeks ago Kellvin Chavez with Splash Report reported that Len Wiseman was going to be directing the pilot for Swamp Thing, this news was later confirmed by Deadline. Today Splash Report indicates that actor/stuntman Derek Mears who played Jason in the Friday the 13th remake is up for the role of Swamp Thing. Kellvin reports that Mears will play the creature only and that someone else will be cast as Dr. Alec Holland.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”5575″ img_size=”480×260″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]We also got reports last week that Gotham’s Crystal Reed would be joining the series as Abby Arcane who is reportedly going to be the focus of the show. According to the synopsis –
Swamp Thing follows Abby Arcane as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.
There is currently no release date for Swamp Thing but it is set to premier sometime in 2019
