GVN Home Entertainment Release Round-Up April 25- May 1: Brad Pitt & Bruce Willis, Gene Kelly, Jack Black and More

We at GVN aim to keep you informed of the newest and best in home entertainment week in and week out. For the week of April 25th, we have some incredible releases making their way to our shelves. Read on to get the full rundown of what you should have on your wishlist, plus take a chance to check out what Michael and I are spotlighting on The Video Attic this week.

This week welcomes a recent “out-of-this-world spectacle” with the ridiculous space adventure Moonfall. Director Roland Emmerich returns with an epic that will either leave you scratching your head or cheering at the unhinged nature of the beast. Either way, the new 4K UHD Blu-Ray from Lionsgate with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos might be enough of an A/V showcase to seal the deal for action-hungry audiences.

Lionsgate will also be releasing the new sci-fi romance Expired starring Ryan Kwanten, Jillian Nguyen and Hugo Weaving. Does this release prove itself to be worth of your time? Be sure to listen to Mike and I discuss the film on this week’s Video Attic below to find out.

Elsewhere in the land of 4K UHD, Warner Bros. is serving up a classic musical romantic comedy Singin’ In The Rain starring the great Gene Kelly to celebrate the 70th anniversary. If your mind is open to a time-tripping journey, Arrow Video has you covered with the Terry Gilliam sci-fi favorite 12 Monkeys starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. The release features a brand new restoration from a 4K scan of the original negative in Dolby Vision and a ton of great special features.

The Criterion Collection has a trio of new titles that are sure to impress film fans new and old including Eyimofe (This Is My Desire) from Nigerian brothers Arie and Chuko Esiri, a love-letter to jazz musicians in ‘Round Midnight from director Bertrand Tavernier and the 4K UHD debut of the unforgettable documentary For All Mankind. As always, the company has went above and beyond for these to release in terms of A/V quality and special features.

This is only a taste of the incredibly packed lineup you have to look forward to you this week. Be sure to check out the full list below after checking out The Video Attic where we discuss Turning Red, recent box sets from Arrow Video, some horror films new and old, and much more.
