[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9570″ img_size=”800×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]It was just a matter of time before a sequel to Blumhouse’s smash hit Halloween was announced. Jason Blum has been teasing and talking about doing a sequel for some time but I think it was just making sure all the right pieces fell into place. Jason and Jamie even shared a photo on Twitter not long ago hinting that they were meeting about the follow up film. Today a new report from Collider indicates that the sequel is a go and with the expected return of actress Jamie Lee Curtis who plays Laurie Strode. John Carpenter returned for the last film which saw him team with Danny McBride and director David Gordon Green and has said he would return for a sequel if asked.  Collider reports that they hope to begin filming this Fall and that a 2020 release date looks to be the goal. The last film was shot in about 27 days according to director David Gordon Green.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”15144″ img_size=”590×350″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Collider is not sure on who will direct the film but that Green is expected to return. A report a few months back indicated that writer Scott Teems was brought on to pen the script but Collider reports Green has written the script for the sequel.

No official announcement has been made from Jason Blum, Blumhouse or Universal at this time.
