Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren will play the villain Hespera in the upcoming Shazam: Fury of the Gods. According to The Wrap, Hespera is the daughter of Atlas. There is no character by that name in DC Comics so this character will be new unless there is some twist that we do not know about yet. Atlas was created by comic legend, Jack Kirby.
Shazam: Fury of the Gods is the sequel to 2019’s Shazam!. The movie will follow teenager Billy Batson, who becomes a powerful superhero when he says “Shazam!”. His adult alter-ego is played by Zachary Levi.
Shazam: Fury of the Gods is set to be released in 2023. What do you think of Mirren being cast in the upcoming DC film?
