Schroeder was brought in to assist Jennifer Lee with scripting duties after Lee was promoted to the head of Walt Disney Animation.
Lee will remain the primary writer, but Schroeder, who worked with Disney on their recent release Christopher Robin, will lend a hand with the scripting duties on the sequel in order to give Lee more time to focus on her new responsibilities at the animation studio.
Lee was named in June as the head of Walt Disney Animation, succeeding John Lasseter who was forced to step down from his role as chief creative officer of both WDA and Pixar Animation Studios after admitting to unspecified “missteps” in the workplace. Inside Out director Pete Docter was chosen to assume Lasseter’s role at Pixar.
Frozen 2 will see the return of stars Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad, who voiced Anna, Elsa and Olaf the Snowman, respectively, in the 2013 feature that grossed over $1 billion at the global box office and became a cultural phenomenon. In addition, it was recently announced that Evan Rachel Wood and Sterling K. Brown would join the sequel’s cast.
While the plot is not yet known, Frozen 2 is set for a Nov. 27, 2019 release.
With Schroder’s talent, she will make a good addition to the Frozen 2 writing team. What do you think? Any reservations about the upcoming sequel? We were just talking about you, our great readers. All good things, All good things.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
