‘Holmes and Watson’ Dominate Razzie Awards

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”16345″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Some would tell you that any publicity is good publicity. That might be true but I’m pretty sure that most actors and film makers would prefer the positive kind. This might especially be true for Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as their universally panned Holmes and Watson were the big winners or losers depending on your point of view at last night’s 39th annual Razzie Awards, recognizing the best of the worst in films.

Watson and Holmes (I reversed it because their both equally to blame), pulled in four awards including the prestigious “Worst Picture Award.” John C. Reilly won/lost for worst supporting actor while the film’s director also took home the honor of worst director. They also took home the “worst remake, ripoff, or sequel award.” That one sounds like they made it up. Haven’t Holmes and Watson sufferer enough? The good news for Will Ferrell, who was nominated for worst actor, is he lost to another multiple award winner, Donald J. Trump for his roles in Death of a Nation and Fahrenheit 9/11.

Other multiple award “winners” were Melissa Mccarthy for her roles in Happytime Murders and Life of the Party. In a positive spin, Melissa also won the “Redeemer Award” for her role in the Oscar-nominated Can you ever forgive me? Another positive is she was nominated for worst actress with Helen Mirren. That’s not too shabby of company.

Do you care about who wins a Razzie Award? Have you ever enjoyed a film that they picked as the worst? You can tell us, we promise to never judge here at GVNation.
