Is The Door Open For A Jimmy Woo Spinoff After ‘WandaVision’?

WandaVision‘ is currently in the midst of being a massive critical and audience success. Every single time an episode drops it is the talk of social media all the way until the next one drops. As each episode travels through a different decade of sitcom structuring the thread begins unraveling more and more. But among a show of standout moments one of the biggest fan favorites, the return of Randall Park’s Jimmy Woo, has spurned some whispers of a potential spinoff.

In episode 4 the show took a break from its sitcom format and instead followed Randall Park’s Jimmy Woo and Kat Dennings’ Darcy Lewis as they attempt to uncover the secrets of “The Hex” which is the name given to the energy field surrounding the town by Darcy. And seeing how Jimmy Woo interacted with each character (and bringing back his personal character arc involving Scott Lang’s card trick), writer and director Stephen Ford hinted at his dreams of getting Jimmy Woo his own X-Files style spinoff. In a tweet from Ford he had this to say:

“Uh. Wow. So. We might have actually opened some doors on my Jimmy Woo X-Files idea. I’m spending the weekend writing the pitch. Can’t express how much of an underdog I am in this scenario so [Don’t] get too excited but cross your fingers and thanks to everyone who made it possible”

He went on to express appreciation for fans who have made this idea go viral “in some weird Deadpool kinda way”.

Jimmy Woo is no doubt a personal favorite in the MCU, from his debut in 2018’s ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ where he went comedic blow for blow with Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang to his (unexpected for Park) return in ‘WandaVision’. I’m sure most MCU fans would be interested in seeing Jimmy Woo as a headliner of his own series exploring the more hush-hush parts of the MCU from the ground.

Are you a fan of Jimmy Woo’s appearances in the MCU and would you be excited to see him get his own show?
