Jack Black revealed that he thought that the chance to play Penguin might be fun. Black talked about this subject during the promotion for his film, The House with a Clock in its Walls.
I mean, I hate to put myself out there and say that because then when I don’t get that part, it was, ‘Oh, Jack tried to get the thing.’ I didn’t try anything! I’m just saying maybe that would be good.
He then followed up by imitating Burgess Meredith’s iconic cackle as the Penguin from the 60’s classic Batman TV series. If nothing else, he was well read on the subject.
