Jesse Eisenberg Signed Onto Batman v Superman Before Completely Reading the Script

Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal of Lex Luthor is a divisive one indeed, but Eisenberg’s enthusiasm for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman was not.

In a recent interview, Eisenberg outlined his feelings for the script which David Goyer and Chris Terrio were a part of it. According to the actor, he felt that BvS’s script was “intellectually probing” and added [that he needed to take his time in reading the script]:

“…because it was so dense. There were references to things I’d never heard of, I was shocked. Because I’d never seen a superhero movie, because I live in a bubble or whatever, and so I thought it was just going to be people flying around for a hundred pages.”

Eisenberg had little time to actually read the script, due to security reasons; so ended up signing it without fully completing the script.

It’s unlikely we’ll see Eisenberg return as Lex Luthor, but his portrayal remains one of the most talked-about versions of the character; for better or for worse. What did you think of Eisenberg’s Lex?
