Spoilers for Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home
It’s been a fantastic week for Netflix Marvel fans. Not only did we get Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but we also got Vincent D’Onofrio back as Wilson Fisk in the Hawkeye series. So, who’s next? I’m crossing my fingers for Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka The Punisher. Bernthal made such an impact in the second season of Daredevil that Netflix gave him two seasons of his own show. Among the other Netflix characters being called to return, fans want Bernthal back.
There is a rumor – that we’re getting from ScreenGeek – that says that we may see Frank Castle back in a Marvel project. Specifically in a Spider-Man movie. Or even a solo film. However, we aren’t sure if this happens if Bernthal would be back. Bernthal had previously expressed that while he wants to reprise his role as The Punisher, he also doesn’t want to play a toned down version of Frank Castle. Bernthal was brutal as Frank Castle, but the Marvel films have to be geared towards both adults and children. So, how could we really see The Punisher unleash the way he did in the Netflix shows?
