However, even after the trailer was released, details of the actual storyline was not made entirely clear. Perhaps Marvel Head Kevin Feige decided to show some mercy to fans when he explained which books they were basing the film on. This was during a recent interview with Bionic Buzz.
Yes, the history of Captain Marvel goes back, and it is rather confusing,” Feige admitted. The one we’re doing is based on Carol Danvers, and in particular, the Kelly Sue DeConnick one which has only been around the last few years. But it’s been really inspirational for us.
The book in question is Kelly Sue DeConnick’s run in 2016 where she did a retelling of the Carol Danver’s version of Captain Marvel. Her Captain Marvel: Earth’s Mightiest Hero was widely praised and proved to be the source that Marvel was looking for to shape it’s version for the MCU.
Are you ready to see what happens when Captain Marvel hits the theaters and how it will set the stage for Avengers 4? Share your thoughts with us at GVNation. In the meantime, I’ve got some reading to do, i.e. Captain Marvel: Earth Mightiest Hero.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
