Last Night’s The Walking Dead Episode Was Lauren Cohan’s Last

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”9722″ img_size=”900×500″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]For anyone who watched last night’s episode, we know that it was Andrew Lincoln’s last. The Walking Dead season nine was promoted as Rick Grimes’s last few episodes and its fifth one was previewed as the very last. So, you’d probably be surprised that it was actually someone else’s last run as well.

“What Comes After” was Lauren Cohan’s last episode for the hit AMC show. It was known that Cohan would be also leaving the series, but because the episode was so heavily contained around Rick, how is this any sort of proper send-off for one of the longest-running characters in the show? At the end of the episode, if anyone hasn’t seen it, leave now; there was a six-year jump and according to showrunner Angela Kang that’s it for Maggie Rhee.

“That’s the last of her for this season,” Angela Kang confirmed. “We’ve been talking to Lauren and hopefully we’ll get to tell more story for her.” Madden added that Cohan and Kang talk regularly: “Angela and Lauren talk. They are actually friendly. And we would like to see her come back.”

While it’s the end for both Maggie and Rick on the show, apparently AMC has confirmed there will be three Walking Dead movies? Andrew Lincoln has already been reported as starring in this trilogy, so there could be room for Maggie to return. This does beg the question though, why? What are your opinions on not only the movies, but about the departures of two major characters? Let us know!
