This was big news about a year or so ago, when the announcement was made, essentially sending many in a panic considering Disney has had a deal with Netflix. After all, we have The Defenders-verse on it, so what would happen there? Would a show like The Punisher really be the same on a Disney based streaming site, considering it is a “family-friendly studio”. Fret not, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil, and The Punisher are staying put. Although, Ant-Man and The Wasp is the last MCU film that will grace Netflix – the rest will be on Disney’s service.

A multitude of series will be on Disney’s streaming service, including ones that will be centered around Loki and Scarlet Witch. This story was reported to be a rumor by my associate Martin, but it seems that this is now confirmed to happen. Fans will be really happy to hear that Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen are set to reprise their roles for these series, which will definitely fill the void of Loki’s permanent absence from the MCU going forward. To be able to dive further into the best sorcerers to hit the big screen is going to be really fun to watch; each show expected to comprise of about six or eight episodes.

For such streaming shows, Kevin Feige and those behind Disney have the intention of focusing more on “second-tier” characters, rather than Captain America and Iron Man. Listen, we all love the essential founding fathers of the MCU, but both have gotten not only solo trilogies, but have appeared in every Avengers movie. This way, we can see those who have been more so secondary throughout the past ten years, which is what shows are for – exploring more than a movie can do within two to three hours.

Disney’s streaming service will also feature Star Wars films, which are owned by Disney, as well as a variety of live-action movies such as Lady and The Tramp, Dumbo, and Captain Marvel.

Are you excited for a separate Disney streaming service, where you’ll be able to find all your Disney favorites under one room? Or is your wallet crying from all the services you’ll be forced to buy? Let us know!
