While Michael Waldron says “time will tell” on whether or not he’s coming back to write for the second season of Loki, we do know Waldron’s responsible for the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel – Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

In a recent interview, done by myself (pinch me?); I asked Waldron about the Loki series, the upcoming STARZ show Heels, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. After the Loki finale, we see how the show perfectly sets up for the sequel to the 2016 film. Benedict Cumberbatch reprises his role as Stephen Strange, who will probably have a lot more to contend with after the events of the Loki show and WandaVision.

When I asked Waldron what it was like working on the sequel and working alongside director Sam Raimi, Waldron responded:

“That was a blast. Experience of a lifetime. We had a great time developing and writing it last year and [shooting] this year. Sam is an incredible director. The cast is unreal in that movie. It’s a hell of a ride.”

I then asked Waldron what the differences between the first movie and this one are:

“Stephen Strange has been through so much between the first movie and now. The first movie was an incredible origin story. Now, he’s been through that, fought Thanos, and is on the other end of it and kind of at the height of his powers.”

Of course, I also had to ask how will Stephen Strange be once he’s found out both Wanda and Loki have been screwing up with the timeline:

“Will we get the meme? I think Benedict is great at selling the Harrison Ford-like, oh God, here we go again.”
