I remember before the Loki show came out, people questioned its importance in conjunction to the MCU. After all, Loki was killed off by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and this show was seen as simply a treat for Loki fans who wanted to see more Tom Hiddleston. However, I believe the finale of Loki has proven to us how important this show is to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Slight Spoilers

Visually, the Loki finale was absolutely beautiful. Of course, it’s all CGI, but it just looked so magnificent that it makes you really impressed with the technology that Disney uses in their Marvel projects. Along with the beautiful scenery came some big surprises. I know there’s a character we all thought was going to show up later in the MCU and spoiler alert, he pops up here. Which, was a real treat for those of us who have been awaiting his arrival. And it really sets up for future MCU projects – such as the upcoming Spider-Man, Ant-Man, and Doctor Strange films.

Although there was some action in this episode, a lot of it was a pause to explain things that we’ve all wanted answers for since the show started. So, don’t think it’s slow or anything like that – this is what everything’s been leading up to. The entire episode was a tense, on-the-edge-of-your-seat moment where we were unaware of what was going to transpire. There were so many decisions to be made, decisions that completely changed the trajectory of what these characters know as reality.

Slight Criticisms

While the Loki finale set up the MCU and therefore is probably one of the most important Disney Plus shows, I do have one or two negatives. One is that I need more! The show ends on a cliffhanger and I know we’ll see the consequences of these decisions in future movies, but how long am I going to have to wait to see Loki again? And the idea that Hiddleston’s Loki was sort of subdued and reluctant to go along with Sylvie’s plans was a tad odd to me. I know Sylvie is driven by pure revenge and this is a moment she’s been working towards her whole life, but I would have liked to see Loki more on her page. Embrace the chaos, Loki! You’re the God of Mischief.

We Need More Loki!

There is a bit of an awkward moment between Loki and Sylvie, I’m not going to say it, but you can probably guess what it is. I mean hey, I expected it to happen and in the way it did, I believe it was there to serve Sylvie and as we know, she’s a Loki. Deception is what they do. As I keep saying, I know we’ll see the consequences of the end of the show in movies in the MCU, but I need to know what else is happening with Loki, Mobius, and the TVA. I mean…can Loki get a break!?
