With only one couple – Johnny and Amy – having said “I Do,” the Love Is Blind season 6 reunion left a lot to be desired. Things were done a little differently this year as the reunion consisted of season 6’s couples, but also couples from prior seasons of the series – though most noticeably missing were their long-running success stories Cameron and Lauryn and Amber and Barnett. Read below for a quick recap of the season 6 contestants as they were at the reunion.
Johnny and Amy
Perhaps the secret to their happy coupling and later wedding was the low-key vibe of it all. While they did have a few moments of concern surrounding the birth control conversation, they were ultimately able to overcome that and, as a result, are the only couple currently married from season 6. You’d think more time would have been given to them because of that, but it wasn’t. They did however get a cute montage that showed the first year of their marriage and the audience was able to watch them swoon over each other as they discussed what it’s been like.
Trevor
Trevor’s appearance at the reunion was short-lived as he came on to apologize to Chelsea and own up to him having an ex-girlfriend at the time of filming the series. The girlfriend knew that he planned to come on the show and didn’t reveal it until he’d broken up with her. After addressing that, Trevor asked to leave and didn’t stay for the rest of the reunion.
Jimmy/Jessica/Chelsea
Once Jessica and Chelsea stopped commenting on everyone else’s relationships, it was revealed that they now consider themselves good friends and Jessica’s daughter sees Chelsea as her aunt. Jessica confronted Jimmy over things he’s said about her in interviews, and they briefly touched on that. For them to have been the season’s biggest story, not much time was spent asking any probing questions. While we never got confirmation on if Jimmy and Chelsea were in a relationship – the hosts didn’t even ask – fan speculation thinks that they may have seen each other again after posting a video of them at a restaurant.
Sarah-Ann and Jeramey
The couple to pick on this season, they were not met with the warmest of regards. Although true to form, Jeramey was met with more grace than Sarah-Ann. Still dating – though Chelsea alleges that they’re broken up every time she sees them – the couple talked about their time on the show before Jeramey and Jimmy randomly got into a small argument and Laura appeared onscreen in a video call that led to more piling on of Sarah-Ann from the other women in attendance namely Jessica who told her she wasn’t a “girl’s girl.” If you remember, Jessica did a lot of the same things Sarah-Ann did while interested in Jimmy so that was interesting, to say the least.
AD and Clay
Remember Matthew? The stone-cold Clark Kent look-alike who seemingly had no time for anyone unless it was Amber or AD? As it turns out, AD went on a few dates with him! It didn’t work out in the long run, but at least they tried to see where things could go. Clay talked about being in therapy and finally addressing some of the issues he has that he’s shared on the show. He refers to AD as the love of his life, but there is no confirmation as to what’s next for them. Though again, thanks to the fans (the true stars of this season), video footage was provided on social media that showed Clay and AD at a family outing together. No one knows what the future holds, but one thing is for sure. The fans will be there to capture every minute of it.
News From The Previous Cast
Season 4’s Zach and Bliss (not present) are expecting a baby, and season 3’s Alexa and Brennan are too. Likewise, Giannina from season 1 is expecting a child with Bachelor in Paradise’s Blake Hortsmann. Love Is Blind season 4’s Chelsea has a job in casting with the Love Is Blind series and two singles – Micah from season 4 and Izzy from season 5 will be on the next season of Netflix’s The Perfect Match with season 6’s Jessica joining them. Lastly, Brett and Tiffany of season 4 are laying down roots and buying a house in the place where their season took place, Portland.
The Bottom Line
This episode seemed more like damage control than an actual wrap-up to the season. Love Is Blind has had at least three lawsuits against them and has gotten a wave of bad press from former participants, and it seemed that the season 6 reunion was about subtly fighting against that. Like when they reprimanded Sarah-Ann on a video she made about going on Love Is Blind for entertainment purposes or were sure to end the episode showcasing a feast of delectable foods after being accused of not feeding their contestants. Even bringing back couples from prior seasons to show that the experiment was successful. It provided good marketing, but it took away from what the reunion should have been focused on – the current cast and all the viral moments that took place over the season that mostly went unaddressed.
Love Is Blind: Season 6 is now available to stream on Netflix.
