Starring Scarlett Johansson, this movie will take place in the MCU, but will be taking place before the first Avengers installment.

Marvel has made no comments as to the reason why Benson is being brought in to rewrite the script, but Collider reports that Marvel executives were impressed with Benson’s work on The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. Marvel is looking to make this movie the best they can for Black Widow, who will be the second female-led movie within the MCU, after Captain Marvel.
