Marvel Will Use The Blueprint Of The Comics To Replace Cast

The Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon be facing the prospect of replacing some of its heroes in the future. This is inevitable as many of their actor’s contracts come to an end. Chris Evans has stated that he is pretty much ready to move on from the “Star-Spangled Avenger” after his contract is fulfilled, which is after next year’s Avengers 4. The same can be said for Robert Downey Jr. who has been the centerpiece of the MCU. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige doesn’t seem concerned since he knew this was coming and has a plan in place to proceed into the future.

Kevin Feige addressed the idea of replacing some of the heroes within the MCU. For Feige, when that time comes, it’s going to be about turning to the comics for inspiration. Here’s what he had to say about it.

“That’s what we can look to in the comics. And that’s why these characters are so relevant. I talk about 10 years of movies, but it’s 50-plus years of comics. And they’re just as relevant and popular And that’s because they do get updated. They do change with the times. I have no doubt that all of our actors, who are in peak physical shape, have got another 50 years in them to be heroes.”

Marvel Comics has a history of using other characters to come in and become a certain hero. Bucky became Captain America for a period of time, as did Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon. In addition, there is an Ironheart version of Iron Man, with a young African American girl named Riri Williams taking over for Tony Stark. With recent information about the existence of a script for an Ironheart movie, it could possibly signal something to look forward to in the future. Though, as is their practice, nobody from Marvel has commented on that.

The lack of information being shared is to be expected as Kevin Feige and everyone at Marvel Studios is making it a point to remain quiet about what to expect beyond Avengers 4. They don’t want to reveal any surprises they have in store for the continuation of the Thanos story. This could be easily ruined by giving out clues to future productions. As for recasting the iconic roles:

“In terms of the specifics of how we will evolve the characters, thankfully I don’t have to really think about it yet. Cause we’re still finishing what we started here with Avengers: Infinity War.”

Once they have completed Avengers 4, which is set to arrive in theaters on May 3, 2019, the future is wide open. Are you ready to embrace another actor in the roles of Captain America or Iron Man? Fans of comic books are used to such events, but is the public at large? As always, we here a GVNation invite your reactions.

as for the public accepting it, they’ve accepted it before. Some of it in the same universe if you look at War Machine. Outside the MCU the biggest example would be James Bond. The general public pretty much accepted that some more than others but it worked. the latest bond is a hard or harder reboot but there were a number of actors playing the same Bond up till then.

so they could easily do another character in the Role of Steve Rogers as Captain America.. or another character in the roll of Captain America. there are other examples of that too.. like when people pretty much accepted Picard as the Captain of the Enterprise after seeing Kirk in the role for so long. just saying this really isn’t all that new.
