Michael Myers Has Changed According To Director In New ‘Halloween’

For a series that has went through 6 different films, you would think that the main character would have no mysteries left to solve. With the latest version of Halloween, Director David Gordon Green plans to bring back the mystery of the Michael Myers character the way it was when he first appeared. To accomplish this he has decided to not acknowledge some of the plot details shown in previous movies, including losing the idea of Jamie Lee Curtis character of Laurie Strode being Michael’s sister.

Green in an interview with the L.A. Times explains:

“Michael Myers hasn’t evolved as a character in any way, shape or form [since 1978]; he’s the essence of evil. He has no character. He has no personality. He has no interests. He never has. He’s someone that is moving forward and reacting to the world around him, but not with any sort of conscious objective. And how the world around him reacts to his behavior is where our story comes to life.”

Does the idea of trying to go back to the beginning and presenting Michael Myers in a mysterious way  work to make this Halloween more intriguing? How do you feel about Green voiding some of the previous films background information including his relationship to Laurie to start anew? Share us your opinions about the new Halloween at GVNation.

Halloween hits theaters on October 19th.
