After her memorable role as a determined apprentice in “Léon: The Professional,” Natalie Portman is about to embark on another thrilling journey as she takes on the role of an assassin once again. According to GFR, Portman, known for her recent portrayal of Jane Foster in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” has joined the cast of “The Serpent’s Kiss.” This exciting project will be directed by the acclaimed filmmaker David Fincher, renowned for his masterpieces such as “Se7en.”

“The Serpent’s Kiss,” produced by Focus Features, marks the first collaboration between the Oscar-winning Portman and the three-time nominated director Fincher. Interestingly, this project seems to indicate Fincher’s ongoing fascination with the enigmatic world of assassins, as his latest endeavor, “The Killer,” is a neo-noir action thriller centered around the life of a professional hitman.

In “The Killer,” featuring the talented Michael Fassbender in the titular role, audiences will be taken on a gripping journey inspired by the French comic book of the same name. The highly anticipated thriller is set to release on November 10, bravely going head-to-head with the much-anticipated film “The Marvels.”

As for Portman, her last notable appearance on the silver screen was in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” where she reprised her role as Jane Foster, this time imbued with the mighty powers of Thor. Given the developments in her character’s storyline, it appears unlikely that we will see her again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, when it comes to the fantastical realm of Marvel, where gods, goddesses, talking trees, and sentient raccoons coexist, it’s challenging to definitively rule out future appearances.

Meanwhile, fans can look forward to seeing Portman in the upcoming romantic drama “May December,” helmed by director Todd Haynes, known for his work on “Velvet Goldmine.” In this film, Portman portrays an actress who visits a woman, portrayed by the talented Julianne Moore of “Boogie Nights,” whom she has been hired to portray in a movie. However, her presence does not bring the solace and insight she hoped to achieve for the family she’s studying. The cast also includes Charles Melton from “Riverdale,” Cory Michael Smith from “Carol,” and Piper Curda from “I Didn’t Do It.”

With Natalie Portman’s participation in “The Serpent’s Kiss,” alongside the visionary director David Fincher, audiences can anticipate an enthralling and immersive cinematic experience. The film promises to be a captivating journey into a world of deception and danger, as Portman’s assassin character navigates her latest high-profile assignment. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting collaboration between two esteemed talents of the silver screen.
