Michael Fassbender has had a lot of notable roles, but his role as one of the best and most intricate villains in comic book history really stands out from the rest. Having played Magneto in the Fox Marvel films for years, I think we thought Fassbender’s superhero days were over once the Fox Marvel universe ended. However, the outlet Giant Freakin Robot claims a source has told them that Fassbender is in negotiations to play a different character in the MCU. They are hearing that Marvel wants Fassbender to take on the role of Fantastic Four villain, Doctor Doom. If that is the case and this all works out then we might be seeing Michael in the role of Doom as soon as Black Panther 2.
I’m going to run this as a rumor since the article came out four days ago and no other outlet has really covered it. BUT – plenty of rumored casting has turned out to be true. And considering how fantastic of an actor Fassbender is, it’d be a waste not to have him back in the realm of Marvel.
There’s no information as to what character Fassbender would play, but maybe instead of a villain, he could play a hero this time? Although, he does play villains quite well.
